History shows that raised budgets and good intentions are not sufficient for reaching fair pay and decent working conditions in the arts. The systematic issues within the sector and on a public policy level need to be debunked and dismantled. In their contributions to this publication, Katja Praznik, Bojana Kunst and Hans Abbing challenge some of the belief systems and prevailing mechanisms that keep people from reaching fundamental change within the arts sector, and invite the readers to rethink how they deal with and value labour and time, the prevailing project-approach in the arts and boundaries between artistic and non-artistic work.
